Jellyfin

Jellyfin is a completely free and open source media center, which will allow you to manage how you want to enjoy all your audiovisual content. The program is a direct descendant of Emby version 3.5.2, which was the last open source version before moving to proprietary code. It was due to this change, in fact, that Jellyfin was born, with the aim of continuing to provide maximum transparency to its users.

At first glance Jellyfin is an elegant media center, which offers a ton of free and royalty-free content. At your disposal you'll find a good handful of movies, TV series and music, all of it royalty free and completely legal. Likewise, Jellyfin does not make money from any audiovisual material, so everything it offers is free of charge as well as being royalty-free. Any other audiovisual content you want to play is entirely up to you.

For example, you can adjust the playback speed, in case you want to make it through a part of a movie or show more quickly. You'll also be able to use syncPlay to watch movies online with friends, and even change the aspect ratio of a movie.
